A favor, if you have two minutes

Help me put my game on Google Play

I built a puzzle game called Marble Match Mania. It is finished, it is free, and it has no ads. But Google will not let a brand-new developer publish to everybody until 12 people test it for 14 days straight. That is the rule, and right now it is the only thing standing in the way. I need eleven more people. Would you be one of them?

What you are actually signing up for

What it takes

  • An Android phone or tablet
  • Tap a link, tap one button
  • Install the game
  • Leave it installed 14 days

What it does NOT take

  • No money, ever
  • No sign-up, no account
  • No ads, no spam
  • You do not even have to play it

That really is all of it. Install it and forget about it. If you do play and something bugs you, tell me — that is the whole point of a test.

How to join

  1. Send me the Gmail address that is on your phone. Google only lets in people I have added by name, so you have to be on my list first. It has to be a Gmail — that is the account your Play Store runs on.
  2. Wait for me to say you are added. Takes me a minute.
  3. Then tap the button below and press “Become a tester.” Being on my list is not enough by itself. You have to press that button or Google does not count you.
  4. Install it and leave it alone for two weeks. If it gets uninstalled early, the two weeks can start over for everybody.

Open this on your phone, signed in with the Gmail you sent me.

Do not search for it in the Play Store You will never find it that way. A game being tested is hidden from search on purpose. The link above is the only way in. If you search the name and get nothing, that is normal and it does not mean anything is broken.
Just joined and it still is not there? Give it a few hours Google is slow to switch a new tester on. It is often quick, but it can take a few hours before the game will install. If you pressed the button and it says you are a tester, you are done — check back later and it will be there.
If that page says you are not a tester Two usual reasons. Either you are not on the list yet, or — the common one — your phone is signed in to a different Google account than the address you sent me. Lots of people have more than one. Check which account your Play Store is using and send me that exact Gmail, and I will add it.
